On Wednesday, February 26, 2014, the School of Engineering at Universidad ORT Uruguay an informational meeting during which Mario Fernández, dean of the School of Engineering, presented the Center for Engineering Innovation (CII) and announced a call for proposals for funding of technology projects.
The Center for Engineering Innovation was established at the initiative of the engineering schools at the Catholic University, the University of Montevideo, the University of the Republic, and Universidad ORT Uruguay, with financial support from the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII).
The main objective of the CII is to foster university-business partnerships through various means.
One such tool is funding final-year projects that provide added value to companies.
In this context, a call for proposals will soon be issued to companies for the funding of academic projects focused on technological innovation.
Funding may be awarded to projects in any field of engineering, including biotechnology. Therefore, students from all majors within engineering schools may submit their projects for evaluation.
