Just a few days after students Juan Inciarte, Martina Schneeberger, and Valentina Datz submitted their business plan—the final project for their Bachelor’s degree in Management and Administration—the country’s first case of COVID-19 was confirmed. As a result, to prevent the spread of the virus, Universidad ORT Uruguay classes and all in-person activities.
Everything pointed to the Public Defense hearing being postponed: “We thought it would be pushed back until after all this was over,” recalls Martina Schneeberger. However, the hearing took place on Monday, March 30, 2020, as scheduled, but virtually. “Everything went perfectly, ” agreed both teachers and students.
“I think adapting to this format was very helpful. In this defense, we adjusted to the reality, put new trends into practice, and made the time more productive,” said Juan Inciarte.
For her part, Martina Schneeberger concluded: “I think the good thing about this is that it was a great example of how to keep moving forward without slowing down the process , despite the setbacks.”
