From the coding contest to Facebook

On Tuesday, May 12, and Wednesday, May 13, 2015, Germán Chiazzo, a graduate of the Systems Engineering program, will give a talk on why it’s a good idea to participate in the ORT programming contest, what you can learn from it, and how to prepare both for the contest and for job interviews with companies like Facebook.

Presentation by Germán Chiazzo, EngineerThe talk on Tuesday, the 12th, will take place from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. in the Auditorium at Universidad ORT Uruguay, Downtown Campus, and the talk on Wednesday, the 13th, will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m., also in the Auditorium.

Chiazzo completed an internship at Facebook’s headquarters in Menlo Park, California, from January to April 2015. He will rejoin the company in November. He has participated several times in the ORT Programming Contests and the International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM-ICPC).

Admission to the conference is free, no prior registration is required, and it is open to students in all semesters.
