"South-to-North" games

Gonzalo Frasca, who holds a Ph.D. in Video Games, wrote the foreword to a book about video games in the Southern Hemisphere.

“The time has come to redefine gaming and gaming culture, from south to north.” With that in mind, Video Games and the Global South It highlights players from different regions, who “have received, created, and even played differently, as cultural and national contexts have an impact on the environment.”

Written by Philip Penix-Tadsen and published by Carnegie Mellon, the book has foreword by Gonzalo Frasca, professor of video games at the university’s School of Design. Frasca holds a Ph.D. in Video Games from the University of Copenhagen and a Master’s degree in Information Science and Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.
