The exhibition on architecture, design, and urban planning, featuring works by Uruguayan professionals, was held in 2015 at the Spanish Cultural Center and was a huge success with the public, according to Carolina Curbelo, a professor at the School of Design and a member of the production and communications team at Ghierra Intendente.
As a result, the Uruguayan Embassy in Germany invited the exhibition to Berlin as part of the celebrations marking 160 years of trade relations between the two countries.
The exhibition's online catalog features 44 original projects, 22 of which were selected for this phase.
The exhibition has by Uruguay XXI—through its Pro-Export program—the Ministry of Education and Culture, the embassies of both countries, and the Spanish Cultural Center.
The exhibition will open on Tuesday, June 7, at the Instituto Cervantes in Berlin.
Curbelo noted that this is “a double cause for celebration”: on the one hand, because she is involved in the Ghierra Mayoral Initiative in general, and on the other, because they selected the project *A tu nombre*, which she developed in collaboration with DATA—a platform that works with open data.
"In Your Name" is an online map of the streets of Montevideo named after women, which was launched on March 8, 2015.
