Martín González enrolled at Universidad ORT Uruguay in 2002 to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Management and Administration. He graduated in 2005 and began working at Los 4 Ases as a marketing manager the following year.
He has recently joined the sales department of Italcred Credit Card.
Martín talks about what it was like to study at the university.
He decided to pursue a bachelor's degree in Management and Administration because he felt the program was closely aligned with today's job market. "Plus, I found the coursework to be very up-to-date."
"I took the course in the evening; most people were working, and the age range was quite diverse, which made the classes more interesting because everyone brought their own experiences and shared them with the group."
Remember that the course on Organization and Management was one of his favorites—so much so that he is now an adjunct professor in the department.
While he was in college, Martín continued to be involved with the family business. "I moved from graphic design to administration, and then to sales, until I became the human resources manager. In every department I worked in, I tried to apply the theoretical knowledge I gained at ORT. That was the legacy I left with the family business."
In 2006, he began working as a marketing manager at the company Los 4 Ases. "I was there for almost a year; it was a very interesting experience. I had to negotiate directly with the media in Montevideo and throughout the country."
Martín currently works at Italcred. "I'm in the sales department, where I handle sales, relationships with major retail chains, and promotional activities. My boss is a graduate of ORT University, and she has created a work environment characterized by professional management and goal-oriented work."
