A graduate and professor has been appointed Consul General of Uruguay in Chicago

Matías Eustathiou, a graduate of the Bachelor’s program in International Studies and a faculty member in the Department of International Studies at the School of Management and Social Sciences, has been appointed Consul General of Uruguay in Chicago, United States. He will assume the position on December 5, 2019.

In 2012, the graduate was selected by the prestigious Botín Foundation to represent Uruguay in the fourth edition of the Public Service Capacity-Building Fellowship, through which 40 young leaders from Latin America studied for three months in the United States (Providence—Brown University), Spain (Madrid, Salamanca, Santander), and Belgium (Brussels).
