As a prize, Diego Piuma, a graduate of the Audiovisual Production Technician program at Universidad ORT Uruguay, participated in an internship program at a Silicon Valley startup accelerator.

Diego Piuma, a graduate of the Audiovisual Production Technician program and founder of FrameALIVE—a startup that graduated from the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Universidad ORT Uruguay—won first prize in the 2020 edition of Pasaporte Emprendedor.

Thanks to this achievement, the graduate was invited to participate in the 500 Startups San Francisco 2021 program for one week.

In addition, as one of the 10 finalists, Piuma participated in training workshops and received one-on-one mentoring for her business.

Pasaporte Emprendedor is a program organized by Endeavor Uy, the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII), and the Technological Laboratory of Uruguay (LATU) aimed at technology-based startups. The goal is to prepare Uruguayan entrepreneurs to market their products abroad.

FrameALIVE is an app that recognizes and brings printed images to life by linking them to videos of the same moment. It works simply by pointing a mobile device’s camera at a linked printed image: the image magically comes to life as the associated video plays instantly in full screen.
