In 2014, Distintas Latitudes launched an experimental call for applications to form the first cohort of the Latin American Network of Young Journalists. The goal was to identify, connect with, and support the professional development of young journalistic talent across the region.
Following a lengthy selection process involving more than 420 applicants, 60 young journalists were selected in October 2020 to participate in the program, two of whom were from Uruguay.
