Graduate Curates Academic and Cultural Exchange Exhibition with Korea

The exhibition features 67 works of contemporary architecture: 33 located in South Korea and 34 located in our country.

33 North / 34 SouthArchitect Ignacio Sambarino, a graduate of the Architecture, is participating as a curator of the exhibition 33 North / 34 South, which will be held at the National Museum of Visual Arts (MNAV) from March 12 to 31, 2019. The exhibition, part of which is on display in Uruguay and part in Korea, is organized at the initiative of the Korean Institute of Architects (KIA).

The idea originated from an invitation extended by the Korean Institute of Architects (KIA) to the Uruguayan Society of Architects (SAU) to participate as a guest of honor in the international exhibition “100 Architects of the Year 2018.”

33 North / 34 South is part of an academic and cultural exchange between the two countries. It began with an exhibition at the Jeju Museum of Art, Jeju Do, in October 2018, has auspices of the International Union of Architects (UIA) and with the support of Universidad ORT Uruguay, among other institutions and organizations.

Sambarino serves as curator alongside the team led by Architect Gustavo Vera Ocampo, the exhibition’s general director.
