ORT graduates among the award recipients
On a night that celebrated creativity and hard work, several graduates from ORT’s School of Architecture stood out in various categories:
- Interior Design: Leticia Achard (Interior Design Technician program): Winner in the categories Small Commercial Space for Financial Officeand Residential Micro-Space for Mirage 304.
- Architect Federico Bonilla and Architect Gabriel Cagno (Architecture program): Award winners at Work Space for the PDS Lounge project, alongside a multidisciplinary team.
- Interior Designer Milagros Sciarra (Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design): Member of the winning team in the category Work Space.
- Sofía Ruiz, Interior Designer (Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design): Featured in Residential Space for a home in Punta Carretas.

In addition to ORT graduates, the 2024 ADDIP Awards recognized other outstanding professionals and projects:

The ceremony also included honorary awards recognizing lifetime achievements and contributions to the interior design sector in Uruguay:

- Support for professional work: Mariela Rodríguez.
- Corporate presence: Furest by Ufficio.
The ceremony, presided over by Psj. María Gomensoro, a graduate of the Landscape Design at ORT, featured a cocktail reception with gourmet hors d'oeuvres and an energetic DJ set by Sofi Carballo, creating a unique atmosphere to celebrate national talent.
Attendees also took part in exclusive raffles, courtesy of the event’s sponsors, and received commemorative tote bags.
Gold sponsors such as Divino, Viasono, and Furest by Ufficio played a key role in the ceremony’s success, reaffirming the value of collaboration in advancing interior design in Uruguay.

20 Years of Excellence in the Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design
This year, the Interior Design program at Universidad ORT Uruguay celebrated its 20th anniversary of training the country’s top professionals in this field. As the only university interior design program in Uruguay, it has played a key role in professionalizing the sector and creating international opportunities for its graduates.
The program offers a comprehensive education in design, technology, and the social sciences, preparing students to tackle complex projects with an innovative approach. This approach is reflected in the achievements of its graduates, such as those recognized at the 2024 ADDIP Awards.

At the recent 2024 Teaching Excellence Awards, where Paula Ceretti, a professor and assistant coordinator of the Interior Design program, was recognized as Teacher of the Year in the short-term degree category; the dean of the School of Architecture, architect Gastón Boero, described this anniversary as a “historic year for the degree program,” highlighting its successful track record. In this regard, the dean noted:
“The degree program is not only producing professionals with a 90% employment rate, but it is also bringing a higher level of professionalism to the field in Uruguay.”
The excellence of ORT’s students and graduates was also reflected in the 2024 Acher Design Awards, where Sofía Ruiz served on the jury, highlighting the quality of their education and their influence on the sector. This competition recognizes projects that combine innovation and design, reaffirming the impact of professionals who have graduated from ORT’s School of Architecture.
