What is the "Hack the City" project about?
The goal of Hack the City is to propose new approaches to addressing urban issues by identifying problems and solving them through civic engagement.
The students had to identify areas for improvement, develop proposals, build a prototype, and conduct user testing.

Hack the City is the practice of transforming the urban environment by making public spaces more enjoyable, efficient, user-friendly, comfortable, and fun.
In this endeavor, the projects carried out by the students serve to broaden the municipal governments’ perspective and scope for action.

In this particular project, the deliverable was a video.
The goal was to spread knowledge through the YouTube platform.
A major part of Hack the City's work involves sharing its initiatives so that they can be replicated, adapted, or modified in other cities.

What aspects of the education of future industrial designers are intended to be emphasized through exercises like these?
This project combines skills and knowledge that are essential for designers.
The first step is to observe and identify problems in the environment as opportunities for innovation.
Second, generating ideas and building a prototype to verify the results.
Finally, the goal is to produce the necessary material for distribution, in this case a video.
Do you believe that contributing to the improvement of public spaces and society as a whole should be one of the goals of industrial design?
This is one of the main goals of design. The thing is, in order to achieve this, design needs to be part of the interdisciplinary teams that plan public spaces.
This project was carried out as part of the Industrial Design 4 course in the sixth semester of the Bachelor's degree program in Industrial Design.
