-Why did you choose to become a certified public accountant?
-I decided to pursue this degree about three years before starting college. I’ve always been very interested in business, and I thought that becoming a Certified Public Accountant would give me the tools I needed to succeed in my career. A year after graduating, I believe it was the right decision.
-Why did you choose Universidad ORT Uruguay?
-When it came time to choose a university, I knew many people who had started their studies at ORT in previous years. I asked them about the professors, the academic level, and the rigor of the program to form my own opinion. I also sought the opinions of various professionals regarding their views and assessments of different universities to help me make my final decision. I paid particular attention to the faculty and the graduates’ success in entering the job market. All these factors led me to choose ORT.
-What was your college experience like?
-It was a difficult time, since I started working during my sophomore year, so I had to give up a lot of things in order to devote enough time to my studies. As time went on, I gradually adjusted to the course load and the time I had to spend studying, which made things easier for me.
It was a period that required a lot of hard work on my part, but it was definitely worth it. I have the fondest memories of my time as a student.
-How did the race go for you?
-I found the program to be very beneficial in many ways. The preparation it provides for professional practice, the emphasis on teamwork, and the high caliber of the faculty are aspects I would highlight, and they have been of great help to me in my professional development.
-What stands out about the program?
-As I mentioned earlier, teamwork is something I particularly value. The faculty is also a highlight of the school, as most professors lead or work at top-tier companies in both the local and international markets. I also appreciate the rigorous standards of the program, which I believe are crucial to the professional training the university provides.
-Do you think you're well prepared for the job market?
-I believe I left college very well prepared. Both the technical and personal training I received throughout my degree program have enabled me to thrive in my professional career today.
-What has your career path been like?
-In 2008, I began working at the Guyer & Regules law firm. After a brief stint there, I joined the administrative department at Plaza Correo Privado, a family-owned company with 17 years of experience in the postal market. I worked in the sales and operations departments, and I am currently the company’s director.
