The deputy director of the Biotechnology Laboratory, Dr. Mariana Umpiérrez, has been admitted to the SNI as an active researcher in the Engineering and Technology Area, Environmental Biotechnology subarea, at the Entry Level, for a three-year term.
Dr. André Fonseca, academic coordinator of the Telecommunications, Electronics, and Electrical Engineering program, was promoted to Level I of the SNI
In addition, the following three-year contract extensions were confirmed:
- Dr. Sergio Yovine, academic coordinator of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data, was reappointed at Level II.
- Dr. Alvaro Tasistro, academic coordinator of the Master’s Program in Engineering for Innovation, was reappointed to Level I.
- Dr. Efrain Buskman, associate professor of physics, was reappointed at Level I.
Through periodic evaluations, the National System of Researchers promotes the classification and financial incentives for researchers, the generation of knowledge across all fields, and the strengthening and expansion of the national scientific community.
