The article “Lost Productivity vs. Recoverable Productivity: The Invisible Component of the Cost of Obesity,” authored by Dr. Ricardo Kaufmann, academic coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Management and Administration, and Dr. Norma Pontet, academic coordinator of the Business School at Universidad ORT Uruguay, was recognized as the Best Paper at the 22nd Ibero-American Congress on Management Control (CIBEC 2025).
The conference, organized by AICOGestión, brought together specialists and academics from across Latin America from November 5 to 7. The papers presented were evaluated by members of the Spanish Association of University Accounting Professors, who highlighted the quality and academic rigor of the research.
The recognition of ORT’s faculty underscores the significance of the study, which takes an innovative approach to the hidden costs of obesity from the perspective of productivity and business management, contributing to the debate on health, the economy, and organizational performance.
