The journalist shared the most significant experiences of his career as a war correspondent, including his coverage of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and his work on special reports in the Middle East, Central Asia, and Latin America.
It was organized by the faculty's Journalism Academic Coordination Office.
Sierra is the host of the news program "Babel in the 21st Century" on the America24 channel (Argentina).
He is a visiting professor in the school's Professional Journalism Training Program, in collaboration with Argentina's Grupo Clarín.
He is the author of the books *Kabul-Baghdad-Tehran: Stories from the Battlefields* (2006), published by Editorial Marea, and *Under the Bombs* (2003), published by Ediciones B in Spain; as well as the documentary *The War After the War*.
He received awards from the Foreign Correspondents' Association of Spain for his coverage of the Iraq War (2003); from the Ibero-American Congress of Digital Journalism for his work “Los espalda mojada argentinos” (2004); and from the Wellington Foundation of Spain, with a jury chaired by Nobel laureate José Saramago, for his production “El levantamiento Aymara” (2005).
He was recognized by the Buenos Aires Herald for the best coverage in Argentine journalism in 2003 and received the 2007 Konex Award as one of the five leading figures in Argentine journalism of the past decade in the News Reporting category.
He was the recipient of the prestigious María Moors Cabot Prize in 2008. He holds a Master's degree in Communications from Boston University.
