"What I enjoy most about my day-to-day work is the uncertainty that the profession brings and its artisanal nature. In other words, being a journalist means doing something new almost every day, learning about different topics, and talking to people you wouldn’t otherwise speak with. Through that dialogue, you come to know and understand so much more about the world than you usually do. At the same time, the daily work has an almost artisanal quality to it, in which each person learns the craft through interaction with their peers and the challenges posed by the current situation: we are engaged in a profession that is constantly evolving in response to technological changes and shifts in how information is reported and consumed."

"What I enjoy most about journalism is listening to others. Learning about their stories, their problems, their dilemmas, and their concerns, and serving as a bridge so that their voices reach others who share their experiences or can help them."

"Uncertainty. In a world governed by rules, where an apple falling from a tree demonstrates the law of gravity, journalism challenges the known and focuses on what 'deviates from the norm.' Every blank page, before it becomes an article, is an opportunity to tell a different story. Every day brings new stories, different perspectives, contrasts, and unfamiliar scenarios. It’s impossible to get bored because, as Ben Bradlee used to say, ‘when your mother tells you she loves you, you have to check it out.’”

"What I enjoy most about being a journalist is that my passions are always part of the equation. I have the soul of a hacker, and I can put that to good use at work: I focus on understanding data so I can better engage with our audiences. It’s a job that can be thankless and exhausting at times, but I love being part of this complex web. There’s nothing more rewarding than celebrating with your colleagues after a job well done."
