Juan Francisco Rosas presented the paper “The DAIS Model”

A professor spoke at the closing event for the “Agro-Environmental Platform for the Development of Irrigated Agriculture (DAIS)” project.

On March 10, 2023, the closing event for the project “Agro-environmental Platform for the Development of Irrigated Agriculture - DAIS,” funded by the Innovagro-ANII Sectoral Fund and implemented from 2018 to 2023, in which the School of Administration and Social Sciences is one of the participating institutions.

On that occasion, Dr. Juan Francisco Rosas, professor of Statistics and Econometrics and researcher in Economics, presented the paper “DAIS Model: Integrated Biophysical and Economic Modeling of Water Resources in Watersheds for the Development of Sustainable Irrigated Agriculture.”

Dr. Rosas served as co-principal investigator for one of the project’s components (Integrated Economic and Biophysical Modeling). Additionally, Franco Frabasile, a research assistant in economics, is one of the project’s research assistants.

Other participating institutions include the Institute of Fluid Mechanics and Environmental Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of the Republic (Udelar), the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Udelar, and the Faculty of Sciences at the same university; the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA), the University of Sydney, and the International Research Institute for Climate and Society at Columbia University. In turn, this project was supported by ORT’s Center for Australian Studies.
