The so-called "Gold Certificate" is awarded to all individuals and institutions that support the goals and objectives of the KKL, who are then included in the institution’s distinguished Golden Book.
The event, which took place on July 15, was attended by KKL-JNF Global President Ifat Ovadia Luski; Global Director of Education Sar Shalom Jerbi; Hila Lavi, representative of the Israeli women’s movement Naamat; KKL President in Uruguay, Aldo Bzurovski; KKL Executive Director in Uruguay, Karine Carmona; and KKL Director of Education in Uruguay, Sofía Dulcini.
The KKL is an environmental nongovernmental organization.
It was founded in the early 20th century, and its offices in Uruguay have been in operation since December 15, 1958.
Since 2004, Universidad ORT Uruguay a certificate to every student who graduates from its degree programs, stating that a tree will be planted in Israeli forests to promote environmental stewardship.
To date, nearly 10,000 trees have been planted.
