In 2008, Paul began studying for a degree in Public Accounting at Universidad ORT Uruguay. In 2006, he started working at the Fernández-Secco accounting firm as an accounting assistant. That same year, he joined Johnson & Johnson, where he has been working ever since.
- How are you finding your studies at ORT?
- I think it's a great school because it has an excellent academic program. The facilities are top-notch, and the library is fantastic. I'm currently taking courses for the sixth and seventh semesters. I expect to graduate by the middle of next year.
- What stands out to you about the program?
- It's very focused on practical work experience, and you learn a lot in class thanks to the high caliber of the professors. I also remember the stress of rushing to finish the required assignments at the last minute.
- When did you start working?
- I started working in the summer of 2006 at the Fernández-Seco accounting firm as an accounting assistant intern.
- Have you changed jobs?
- In April 2006, I began working at Johnson & Johnson in the Finance Department, first as an assistant in the Accounts Payable and Treasury division, and then in 2008 I was promoted to Treasury Manager. In August 2009, I received another promotion, this time to the International Trade division, where I took on the role of analyst.
- Do you think ORT prepares you for the job market?
- Yes, what impresses me most is how practical the program is, which helps me in my day-to-day work.
- Did you make any friends during your studies?
- I've made several friends during my studies. The required courses and the more interactive classes played a big part in helping me make those friendships.
- What are your plans for the future?
- Support me so I can continue to grow professionally. I’ll probably pursue an MBA or a graduate degree in finance or taxation.
