ORT University has been authorized to administer the GMAT exams

June 30, 2008
Starting in June, ORT University is authorized to administer the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) through its Pearson VUE testing center, which has been designated a "Testing Center Select"—the only one of its kind in Uruguay.

The GMAT exam is required by leading universities in the United States and Canada for admission to their MBA programs.

The testing process requires special infrastructure (fingerprint scanners, digital cameras, and security cameras, among other equipment), and the exams are monitored and recorded; the recordings are then sent to Pearson VUE. Marta Castro, Coordinator of Computer and Electronics Laboratories at the School of Engineering, and Rosana Perdomo, Assistant Coordinator of Computer Laboratories, took and passed the “Administrator Certification Exam for Pearson VUE Testing Center Select.”
