The men's and women's hockey and tennis teams won the tournament championship; the basketball and swimming teams finished as runners-up; while the men's and women's handball and volleyball teams took third place.
Competing for Argentina were: Instituto Romero Brest, Universidad de Ciencias Empresariales, Universidad Torcuato Di Tella, and Universidad de Buenos Aires.

This marks the tenth time that Universidad ORT Uruguay the University Sports Championship.
The awards ceremony took place on April 27, 2017, at the Naval Academy. Mario Matalonga, M.A., coordinator of Social and Sports Activities, received the "200 Years of the Navy" General Cup, which the university won at the University Sports Complex.
The awards ceremony was attended by Captain Jorge Menini, director of the Naval Academy; Admiral Leonardo Alonso, Commander-in-Chief of the Navy; and Dr. Juan Manuel Gutiérrez, rector the University of Montevideo, as well as the sports directors of the universities and players participating in the tournament.
