On Friday, December 3, the lecture "Visual Culture at the Frontiers of Our Time" was held at ORT Centro, presented by Dr. Enrique Tamés, Director of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at the Mexico City Campus of Tecnológico de Monterrey. The event was organized by the Mexican Embassy in Uruguay and the School of Communication and Design. It was exclusively for faculty members.
The speaker has published articles on the philosophy of art, Latin American aesthetics, educational technology, and arts education. He has organized academic events featuring renowned international figures such as Nobel Prize in Literature laureate José Saramago, writer Carlos Fuentes, architect Glenn Murcutt, and philosopher Gilles Lipovetsky. He has been a visiting professor at the National School of Plastic Arts "La Esmeralda," the MGIMO Institute of International Studies in Russia, the University of North Carolina, and the University of Virginia. He has also been a visiting researcher at the Getty Institute in California, and recently at Loyola University in Chicago, where he began research on technology and art.
