Let's Talk About the Future: Telecommunications in Uruguay

A lecture given by three telecommunications engineering graduates on how 5G technology and the Internet of Things will impact society.

The presentation was given by engineers Germán Milano, Martín Ljubicic, and Christian Kuster, who addressed various aspects of the same question.

First, Milano gave an introduction to the topic and discussed current and potential future applications. Ljubicic focused on the technical requirements necessary for the development of 5G networks, while Kuster provided an in-depth look at the inner workings of cellular networks, what happens in the core network, and how to evolve to 5G.

The event, which took place on November 6, 2019, was organized by the academic coordinators of the Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics Engineering, and Electrical Engineering programs and marked the start of the "Let's Talk About the Future" lecture series, which aims to discuss current issues that have an impact on society.
