Call for Papers for a Special Issue

*Cuadernos de Investigación Educativa* invites submissions for its special issue: “Contemporary Perspectives on the Professional Development of In-Service English Teachers: Bridging Theory and Practice.”

Submissions for the journal’s special issue will be accepted through Friday, January 31, 2025. The issue aims to explore contemporary perspectives on the professional development of teachers of English to speakers of other languages.

The call for proposals focuses on innovative approaches, research findings, and practical insights that effectively bridge the gap between theory and practice, with the aim of improving students' language learning.

The journal invites authors to submit original research articles, case studies, and conceptual articles that address one or more of the following topics:

  • Context-based professional development programs
  • Professional development for teacher certification
  • Communities of inquiry and communities of practice
  • Culturally and linguistically sustainable professional development

“Contemporary Perspectives on the Professional Development of In-Service English Teachers: Bridging Theory and Practice” will be published in the second half of 2025 and will accept manuscripts in both English and Spanish.

Dr. Lourdes Cardozo-Gaibisso, a professor and researcher in TESOL and educational linguistics at Mississippi State University (United States), will serve as the guest editor for this issue.
