On April 23, 2017, Black & Liberty—a brand created by María Piñeyrúa, a graduate of the Fashion Production program, and Florencia Domínguez, a graduate of the Bachelor’s in Fashion Design program—was one of the winning brands of the Itaú Program for Women Fashion Entrepreneurs, which took place during the 14th edition of Moweek.
Black & Liberty is a startup incubated by the university's Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE).
The designers presented a three-minute pitch to the jury, along with their flagship product and images that capture the essence of their brand. Black & Liberty was also chosen as the audience favorite. The event took place at the LATU Exhibition Park.
Through this program, Itaú aims to engage with the entrepreneurial ecosystem, helping to create sustainable companies capable of driving innovation and developing business models that are sustainable over the long term.
