In July 2017, the Master’s in Financial Management program at Universidad ORT Uruguay accepted into the CFA University Affiliation programme.
Previously, the master's program had been admitted to programme University Recognition programme. This new affiliation allows graduate students to:
- Get free access to the Financial Analysts Journal® and CFA Magazine.
- Six scholarships per year to take the CFA exams at all three levels, leading to CFA Charterholder status.
- Get access to the latest editions of CFA exam prep books every year.
In turn, membership prepares students to earn the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, which has become a respected and globally recognized professional credential.
Participation in the CFA University Affiliation programme to employers and the job market that Universidad ORT Uruguay curriculum Universidad ORT Uruguay closely linked to professional practice and is well-suited to prepare students for the CFA exams.
“We are proud to receive this recognition—which, at the local level, is currently held only by the Master’s in Financial Management program at ORT University—as it acknowledges the quality of education our graduate programs in finance provide in Uruguay, and from our country, to the region and the world,” said Dr. Norma Pontet, coordinator of the graduate programs in finance and professor of managerial accounting at the university.
Why CFA membership is important

Specifically, this accreditation means that the university has incorporated at least 70% of programme CFA programme Body of Knowledge (CBOK) and has emphasized the CFA Institute’sCode of Ethics and Standards of Practice within the program.
