Masterclass led by Argentine artist Andrés Mayo

July 30, 2018
Under the title “How to Achieve the Ideal Mix to Get the Most Out of Mastering,” renowned producer Andrés Mayo gave a masterclass at the School of Communication.

How do you prepare the mix so that mastering is truly effective? Which errors can be corrected during mastering, and which cannot? How can you achieve the best final result by working through the entire process from pre-production to mastering?

Andrés Mayo spoke on these fundamental questions on Monday, July 30, at the School of Communication. “Let’s use our ears to identify the conceptual core of the piece we’re working on,” he recommended.

An artistic and executive producer, audiovisual director, and audio engineer, Mayo is well-known in the industry for his work as a record producer (in vinyl, CD, DVD, and Blu-ray formats) and as a director of film, TV, and virtual reality productions (including *Buenos Aires, Days and Nights of Tango* and *Charco, Songs of the Río de la Plata*).

His credits appear on more than 2,500 music productions since 1992. He has won two Latin Grammys as an audiovisual producer and seven Gardel Awards as an audio engineer.

He was a member of the companies Andrés Mayo Mastering & Audio Post (specializing in stereo, 5.1, and 3D mixing and mastering), 360 Sound Experience (a producer of 360-degree audio for virtual reality), and Cool du Monde (an audiovisual production company).
