Martín Ugarte, 34, Sales Manager at Seler Parrado S.A., shares his experience studying for a Technical Degree in Sales Management at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
-In what year did you decide to study at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and why?
-I began my studies in 2010, after spending some time looking for educational options that would provide me with training in business management. I remember that the curriculum was what ultimately convinced me to choose ORT.
-What did you value most about college?
-More than anything, the quality of some of the teachers who really made a difference in my experience.
-How did you come up with the idea of pursuing this degree?
-At the time, I was working as a sales manager at a well-known national firm, and I realized I needed to further my professional development in order to qualify for a managerial position.
-How did the race go for you?
-The race turned out to be quite a challenge, and I felt a great sense of satisfaction upon completing it.
-What do you remember about your college days?
-Basically, I remember the effort I put into getting through the program, making the most of the limited time I had to study due to my work commitments. Despite the demanding nature of the program, it is structured in such a way that it is possible to complete it while working at the same time.
-What would you highlight about the program?
-The facilities, the library, and the high quality of instruction.
-When did you start working?
-I started working in 1997 as an administrative assistant at a telecommunications company. I then worked my way through various companies in different industries, gaining extensive experience in the sales field. I currently serve as Sales Manager at a national company with 50 employees.
-How did your degree prepare you for the job market?
-The program provided me with a solid theoretical foundation for my professional development.
-What are your plans for the future?
-My long-term goal is to start my own business.
