On Wednesday, July 29, 2020, a webinar was held with all participants in the 2020 “Design Your Room” contest to announce the winners of the 16th edition. The jury, composed of Architect María Elena Salinas, Architect Jorge Migues, and Industrial Designer Agustín Menini, was responsible for selecting and announcing the best projects submitted by the students.
A total of 70 projects were submitted, of which 6 were selected; among these, one first prize, two second prizes, and three honorable mentions were awarded.
The selected projects were:
- Melody by the mar. By Guillermo Cáceres, a student at Liceo Pallotti High School.
- Nordic Dream. Author: Ignacio Escursell, a student at Jesús María School.
- The Attic: My Place. Author: Angelina Paredes, a student at Liceo San Ignacio Monseñor Isasa.
- Fresh MVD. Author: Juan Andrés Kurunian, a student at Liceo 36.
- A small cave: cozy and practical. By Cecilia Braña of Sagrada Familia School.
- Firefly. Author: Santiago Zeballos, a student at Santa María School of the Marist Brothers.
The six selected students will receive a full scholarship for the refresher course on Design and Project Management with AutoCAD.
First prize went to the "Luciérnaga" project by Santiago Zeballos, who received a full scholarship to study architecture or interior design at the School of Architecture at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
Cecilia Braña took second place with her project *Small Cave: Comfortable and Efficient*, alongside Juan Andrés Kurkunian, creator of the *Fresh MVD* proposal. Both students received a 50% scholarship to pursue any degree program in the School of Architecture.
