It is carried out by the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Center, the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Universidad ORT Uruguay DESEM Young Entrepreneurs – JA Uruguay, with support from ANDE, the Ministry of the Environment, UNDP, and GEF for activities promoting circular initiatives under the Circular Opportunities Program of Uruguay Circular.

It aims to raise awareness about the impact that the actions of individuals and businesses have on global environmental issues. A carbon footprint is a metric that reflects the amount of greenhouse gases emitted as a direct or indirect result of the activities of a person, event, or organization, in order to determine their contribution to climate change.

MiHuella is aimed at students and young people aged 17 to 29 and will be officially launched at a hybrid event to be held next Wednesday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. online. Experts in environmental issues and entrepreneurship will present introductory concepts regarding the carbon footprint, its relationship to climate change, and its role in the development of circular economy ventures.

The project includes a workshoptitled "The ABCs of the Carbon Footprint," which will be held in four sessions (April 19, 21, 26, and 28) via online platforms.

By the end of the course, each participant will be able to propose actions to reduce their individual carbon footprint and/or that of their organization.
