The workshop aimed to help participants understand the importance of creating, nurturing, and managing networks (both personal and professional), as well as the role these networks play in generating and accelerating business value. On an operational level, the workshop introduced participants to simple online platforms for contact management and networking ( including LinkedIn).
The workshop focused on:
• Eliminating prejudices about cultivating networks of contacts and relationships.
• Making operational distinctions (“Networking” versus “Lobbying”).
• “Networking” as a systematic and intelligent way to generate value beyond one’s own skills and capabilities (network value).
• Elements necessary for creating networks (collaborating, building trust, being a resource for others).
• Roles and profiles in network building. Self-assessment (practical exercise).
• Activity: identifying the networks needed for one’s own projects.
• Using LinkedIn (a tool for storing and managing professional contacts).
