In November 2022, the Institute of Education at Universidad ORT Uruguay theAdvanced Certificate in English Language Teaching.
This is a training program that addresses key areas of professional development for teachers, such as the individual factors that support or hinder learning, the contributions of linguistics and contemporary pedagogy, the principles of assessment, and the criteria for selecting instructional materials.
This professional development course, taught entirely in English and online, is designed for teachers, coordinators, mentors, supervisors, department heads, and administrators at bilingual institutions, as well as teachers who teach their subjects in English at bilingual and international schools.
The proposal has two key distinguishing features. First, it is a program that is highly tailored to the participants’ circumstances: the content and activities selected are directly aimed at improving teaching and learning.
On the other hand, the course ispractical innature and can be immediately applied to real-world situations, as it encourages participants to reflect on their own teaching practices.
The Advanced Certificate in English Language Teaching is an 8-month program. Students who earn the certificate and meet all admission requirements are eligible to continue their studies in the Specialization Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
