New mobility project between ORT and Uppsala University

For the second consecutive year, Universidad ORT Uruguay its academic mobility program with Uppsala University in Sweden, as part of the International Credit Mobility (ICM) initiative under the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program.

For 30 years, the European Union has funded the Erasmus program, which has enabled more than 4,000,000 European students to complete part of their studies at other universities within the bloc. Five years ago, Erasmus+ was launched to extend that same opportunity to students and organizations in other parts of the world.

Through ICM, European institutions can manage mobility agreements with partners around the world to receive and send students, faculty, and staff.
In this regard, Universidad ORT Uruguay its cooperation with Uppsala in the field of academic mobility. It is thus one of three Latin American universities selected as partners of that European institution.

Through this new project, during the 2020–2023 period, three students from Uppsala University will come to Uruguay to complete part of their studies at ORT. Meanwhile, three ORT students will have the opportunity to travel to Sweden to continue their studies at that institution.

Given the global health situation caused by COVID-19, ORT will launch the call for applications in due course for all students interested in applying for these Erasmus+ ICM program scholarships for their exchange semester in Sweden.
