- In what year did you decide to study at Universidad ORT Uruguay, and why?
- I began my studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay 2006. I chose to study at the School of Business and Social Sciences because, for the degree program I had chosen, it best fit the profile I was looking for: a multidimensional approach across all areas of study.
- How did you come up with the idea of pursuing a bachelor's degree in International Studies?
- The idea of pursuing this degree first came to me in high school, as I was interested in learning more about countries, their cultures, their economies, their international politics, and the relationships between them.
- How did the race go for you?
- I found the program to be excellent in every way, whether in terms of the faculty, the facilities, access to systems, the availability of study rooms, and the wide variety of books available in the library, as well as the program administration, which always provided us with a great deal of support.
- What do you remember about your school years?
- Over the course of four years, many stories have emerged. There are so many experiences and lessons that will stay with me forever. I remember how nervous I was when I submitted my thesis. That final moment, when you share it with the group you’ve worked with for so long, is one of the things that moved me the most. My overall impression of the program is excellent, both from a personal and academic standpoint. Many people I met were a great help to my personal, academic, and professional growth. At the same time, pursuing my bachelor’s degree also allowed me to land my first job.
- How did college help you when you entered the job market?
- The university helped me by posting my resume on its websites and by providing support from the faculty team throughout the job search process. The university’s support was crucial during that initial phase; it was great to have that help.
- When did you start working?
-I started working in 2007 when I was a sophomore. I began with an internship at the Uruguayan Exporters' Association, where we helped companies that had never exported before to sell their products abroad; two months later, we helped one of them make its first export.
- Where do you currently work?
- I currently work at Lolita, where I started out conducting market research focused primarily on the countries where the company wanted to expand. I was later appointed Franchise Department Coordinator. I am currently responsible for the countries where the company operates and provide online support to each of the franchisees.
- How did your degree prepare you for the job market?
- There’s no doubt that ORT prepared me and helped me enter the job market. I apply all the knowledge I gained during my degree program to my professional life. Since the program takes a multidimensional approach, I draw on what I learned in various courses throughout my years of study. In particular, what I learned about law, strategy, and economics is extremely useful in my work.
