In addition, the fashion film *Nexo Atávico*, based on the event of the same name organized by the fashion design students, was selected to be featured in the “Moda viva” section of the conference.

Universidad ORT Uruguay, through its Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, was invited to join the Academic Council of the 10th Latin American Fashion Congress, organized by Ixel Moda Colombia, which was held virtually from October 19 to 23, 2020.

ORT was the only institution representing Uruguay at this council, which brings together directors of design programs in general—as well as fashion and textile design programs in particular—from leading educational institutions in Latin America, along with representatives from partner universities and schools in Europe and the United States.

The council sessions explored new avenues in academic research, the future of the fashion industry, and trends in the industry linked to ethical considerations. Thematic working groups were organized, and various papers selected by the scientific committee were presented.

In addition, a film was screened about Nexo Atávico, a fashion event focused on ancestral roots in Uruguay, organized by 7th-semester students in the Bachelor of Fashion Design program on August 5 at the drive-in theater at the Punta Carretas lighthouse. At that time, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the students had to adapt to a new format, so the event was held outdoors on a giant screen, and guests were able to view the collections from their cars.
