The meeting, which took place on August 15, was attended by the rector Universidad ORT Uruguay, Dr. Jorge Grünberg; the university’s vice president for administration, Daniel Oliveri; and Roberto Cyjon, as well as Gerardo Szwedzki on behalf of Tnuat Avodá Hatzionit.
Tnuat Avodá was founded in Uruguay in 1917, coinciding with the wave of Jewish immigrants who arrived in the country during the 20th century in search of a better future.
Mr. Cyjon highlighted the movement’s connection—and his own in particular—to the president of Universidad ORT Uruguay, Prof. Charlotte de Grünberg, who passed away in February 2024. Both he and Szwedzki emphasized the president’s support for various community projects they had led.
