The Master's in Financial Management program at Universidad ORT Uruguay a dual-degree agreement with the Master's in Financial Management program at the Instituto Desarrollo (ID) in Paraguay.

The program will begin in September 2022 and will be conducted in an innovative format: classes will be held at ORT Rambla, and students in Paraguay will participate via HyFlex®, with an in-person instructor at the ID campus who, together with the ORT instructor, will lead the class.

This format is enriching thanks to the cultural exchange and the different perspectives and experiences of both countries.

This format is made possible by HyFlex® technology: a camera located in the classroom that tracks the instructor’s movements and voice. Students taking the class online can clearly hear what the instructor is saying, as well as their classmates’ questions and answers, and they can also see their classmates, thanks to the high-quality audio and video provided by this technology (read about some of the experiences of instructors and students with HyFlex®).

“There will be two groups in different countries, coordinated simultaneously by two professors via HyFlex®,” said Dr. Norma Pontet, academic coordinator of the graduate programs in Finance and professor of Management Accounting.

The program will last two years, and upon completion, each institution will award its own degree. This means that ID students will be able to earn degrees from both institutions in the same amount of time it would take to complete a master’s degree. The agreement thus allows them to gain a more international perspective on their studies and facilitates regional networking opportunities.

This dual degree program is an intellectually challenging experience that provides tools at the cutting edge of international best practices. Its defining features include a blend of market pragmatism, a solid theoretical foundation, and a faculty of the highest caliber.
