The conference will take place from July 29 to August 2, 2019, and is organized by the University of Montevideo, CLAEH University, the Technological University of Uruguay (UTEC), the Catholic University of Uruguay, and Universidad ORT Uruguay.
In addition, the initiative will be supported by the National Development Agency (ANDE).
As part of the event, Enrique Topolansky, coordinator of the university’s Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, will lead a workshop titled “The Impact of Digital Disruption on Society” on July 29 at ORT’s Downtown Campus.
More than 400 young people will have the opportunity to become agents of change through activities that will help them think big, seek innovative solutions to social issues, and collaborate creatively in networks.
The main event will be the Bootcamp, which aims to equip participants with the skills to innovate for social impact through activities that help generate ideas, validate concepts, and create prototypes using methodologies such as Design Thinking (DT) and Lean Startup (LS).
In addition, a series of “satellite workshops” will be held in advance, organized by each of LOOP’s partner institutions. These workshops will be free and open to the public.
