Of the more than 700 universities in Latin America, only 14 were ranked among the top 500 in the world. The top 10 universities are American or British, and Harvard University is once again ranked first. The vast majority (69%) of the universities ranked among the top 500 in the world are American or European, and only 3% are Latin American.
