Welcome, August 2025 exchange students
As it does every year, the university organized a warm Welcome to our new students, in an event organized by the International Office.

The event was attended by Dr. María Azpiroz, Director of International Relations; Natalia Seigal, Student Exchange Coordinator; and Mauro Simois, Assistant in the department.

Camilo Rodríguez, the coordinator of Social and Athletic Activities, was also present and invited the students to join the university’s sports teams during their time there.

International diversity

This year, the university welcomed 90 exchange students from Germany, Belgium, Canada, China, Spain, the United States, France, Italy, Mexico, Peru, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.

During the orientation day, they were provided with essential information about the university, its services, and the various academic approaches.

The event concluded with an engaging interactive quiz on Uruguayan culture and key information they should know during their stay in the country and at ORT.

An enriching exchange

This exchange program offers a valuable opportunity for mutual learning, both for international students and for ORT faculty and students.

In addition to enhancing language learning and practice, it opens doors to new academic and professional opportunities, fosters cross-cultural understanding, and helps build an international network of contacts.

Sponsorship Program: Local Support

The Mentor Program is an initiative that allows local students to actively participate in the experience of their international peers. It is aimed at ORT students interested in supporting and guiding newcomers during their first month in Uruguay, helping them integrate and adapt to their new academic and cultural life.

Mentors are also invited to the institutional welcome event, where they have the opportunity to meet the international students and become involved in the orientation process from the very beginning.

Testimonials from some of our international students

During the event, we spoke with some of the international students, and they shared their thoughts on what their experience has been like so far.
