At the event, the students showcased their academic work through a fashion show, which involved presenting three original designs that were part of a collection. This event took place as part of the "Collection Design" course.
The name"Parallax"refers toparallel realities, and the fashion show centered on three themes: dreams and artificial intelligence, cultural history, and nature and architecture. Working both in groups and individually, the students created unique garments that convey their concepts and identities.
The goal of this public presentation was to involve students in the research, design, and management processes, where the profile of the future designer is aligned with the demands of an innovative and marketable product.
These courses provide insight into the creative process that students will continue to explore in their fourth year of the program, through courses such as Fashion Event Design and Production and the Capstone Project, where future professionals are confronted with the realities of the job market.
The teachers were in charge of the creative process for this project Ana Inés Píriz —who holds a master’s degree in Design and Fashion— and Lucía Torchelo, B.A., along with the assistant Agustina Gómez Platero, B.A.. The production was directed by the renowned costume and set designer Hugo Millán, Technician, while the overall production of the event was handled by Mariana Muzi, Industrial and Mining Engineer.
