JULY 2012
The startups PedidosYa and Woow, supported by theCIE(Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship), were honored at the "eCommerce Awards Uruguay 2012," which took place as part of "eCommerce Day Montevideo," an event focused on e-commerce, online and mobile banking, and internet-based businesses in Latin America. They were recognized in the categories “eCommerce Leaders in Services” and “New Players in Uruguay,” respectively. The event took place on July 25, 2012, at Antel’s Telecommunications Tower.
The “eCommerce Awards” are accolades that recognize companies and startups in the fields of e-commerce and online business, whose innovation has contributed to the development of the online market and the digital economy.
At the “eCommerce Awards Uruguay 2012,” a committee of local experts composed of 18 opinion leaders and representatives from trade associations, along with a select international jury, selected the companies that, due to their development and contributions, are the most outstanding in their category in Uruguay.
