On April 5, 2018, theFaculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted the presentation of the book *Institutional History of the Central Bank of Uruguay*. Speakers included current and former top officials of the institution, such as Ariel Banda, Julio de Brun, Gabriel Oddone, Ricardo Pascale, Mario Bergara, and Enrique Iglesias.
The event was opened by Dr. Néstor Gandelman, academic coordinator of the Economics Department at Universidad ORT Uruguay.
Next, Ariel Banda, former deputy general manager of the BCU; Julio de Brun, former president of the BCU; and Gabriel Oddone, general coordinator of the book and partner at CPA Ferrere, presented the book, with comments from Fernando Barrán, Juan Pedro Cantera, and Gerardo Licandro.
Finally, a roundtable discussion titled “Half a Century of Institutional Development” was held, featuring Enrique Iglesias, the first president of the BCU and current Secretary General of the Ibero-American Secretariat; Mario Bergara, the current president of the BCU; and Dr. Ricardo Pascale, former president of the BCU.
