He is involved in the overall coordination of the Models and Data Science Division, which is headed by Dr. Fernando Paganini, the school’s vice dean for research and professor of Telecommunications Theory.
Dr. Ferragut also participates in two working groups:
- Subgroup 2 - Mobility and Apps: Tools for monitoring people's movements and supporting contact tracing, particularly through mobile apps ·
- Subgroup 3 - Models and Projections: Mathematical modeling of the epidemic, trend indicators, and short-term projections, with a particular focus on the impact on healthcare infrastructure.
Within this framework, the group is working on developing monitoring indicators to track the progression of the epidemic and its impact on the healthcare system, as well as analyzing the use of contact tracing apps to monitor the epidemic.
These working subgroups meet weekly or biweekly and prepare technical reports for the GACH for review and the subsequent development of recommendations.
