The central theme of the summit was “Advances in Science and Technology through Computer Science Research.”

The event brought together leading figures from the region’s top universities, the Chilean government, and Microsoft, all representing a wide range of disciplines, including computer science, engineering, mathematics, and economics.

The 250 participants explored the latest advances in computer science research, discussed the challenges facing the community, and highlighted the best approaches to address those challenges.

“The format is very similar to an academic conference: keynotes, presentations in thematic tracks, and booths for demos. The most important presentations were given by Tony Hey (Vice President) and Rico Malvar (Chief Scientist),” explained Solari.

The event served as a space for colleagues from across the spectrum of computing disciplines to meet and build connections.
