At that time, he was a member of the research team at the Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM).
The professor was invited by the UPM team because of the connection between her doctoral thesis in Computer Engineering and the project's research topic.
The project was submitted to the Spanish Ministry of Education as part of the 2004–2007 call for proposals for grants to support scientific research, development, and technological innovation projects.
