On October 2, 2015, three audiovisual projects by students and graduates were selected to receive funding from the Montevideo Socio Audiovisual Program and the Montevideo Filma Fund of the Municipality of Montevideo.

The Montevideo Socio Audiovisual Program provides financial support to domestic audiovisual productions in the final stages of production, while the Montevideo Filma Fund is a grant from the City Government’s Department of Culture for audiovisual projects in the early stages of filming.

One of the grants awarded by Montevideo Socio Audiovisual went to the feature-length documentary Ópera Prima, produced by Valentina Baracco, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies.

For its part, Montevideo Filma awarded grants to the project El creador de universos, directed by Mercedes Dominioni, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication, produced by Gerardo Castelli, the faculty’s academic coordinator for Audiovisual Studies; and to Rotos y descosidos, presented by Elena Quirici, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Advertising and Audiovisual Studies, and Hernán Rodríguez, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication.
