The Montevideo Socio Audiovisual Program provides financial support to domestic audiovisual productions in the final stages of production, while the Montevideo Filma Fund is a grant from the City Government’s Department of Culture for audiovisual projects in the early stages of filming.
One of the grants awarded by Montevideo Socio Audiovisual went to the feature-length documentary Ópera Prima, produced by Valentina Baracco, a student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Audiovisual Studies.
For its part, Montevideo Filma awarded grants to the project El creador de universos, directed by Mercedes Dominioni, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication, produced by Gerardo Castelli, the faculty’s academic coordinator for Audiovisual Studies; and to Rotos y descosidos, presented by Elena Quirici, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a focus on Advertising and Audiovisual Studies, and Hernán Rodríguez, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication.
