Re|creación 26: The Edition with the Highest Turnout to Date

The School of Design at Universidad ORT Uruguay with a new edition of Re|creación, an event where 8th-semester students present their final graduation projects.

Re|creation 26: Social Issues

From February 10 to 12, a total of 102 projects were submitted by 113 students. In this 19th edition, 79 projects were submitted by students from the degree programs participating in Re|creación 26, including the Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Design, the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, and the Bachelor’s Degree in Multimedia Design.

Twenty-three projects from the Animation and Video Games and Design, Art, and Technology degree programs also participated as guests in the exhibition and presentations for Re|creación 26. Of the 23 projects included, 12 were developed and presented by students in the Animation and Video Games program, and 11 were presented by students in the Design, Art, and Technology program.  

In addition, from February 10 to 26, each student’s Integrative Project will be on display in the main lobby of Universidad ORT Uruguay in the lobby of the School of Design, so that students, faculty, and the general public can tour the exhibition and gain an in-depth understanding of the projects.

Featured Projects

Faculty members from the Integrative Project across all degree programs selected a total of 18 projects. Specifically, they highlighted those projects that successfully achieved the objectives set by the students and participating partners and exceeded the faculty’s expectations.

The following projects stood out from the Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design:

  • The Uruguay Sin Límites Foundation, led by Natalia Méndez, in collaboration withLuciana Scarpellifrom the Bachelor's Program in Multimedia Design
  • Purewool, by Sofía Lasida
  • Plaza Café, by Ronit Laufer

Re|creación 26 Exhibition

From the Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, the following were recognized:

  • Holomate, by Renzo Colla
  • "Montevideo Planetarium" by Emiliana Abbate, in collaboration with Sofía Rey and Lucía Martínez from the Bachelor's Program in Multimedia Design
  • Redesign, by Karelis Alonso and Agustín Irrazabal

From the Bachelor's Degree in Fashion Design program, the featured projects were:

  • Ana Livni, by Natalia Lizarralde
  • Caper, by Catalina Percivale
  • Margo Baridón, by Sol Barbachan

The following students stood out in the Bachelor's Degree in Multimedia Design:

  • RedTickets, by Iara Suster
  • Viatik, by Santiago Couñago
  • Montevideo Planetarium
  • Uruguay Without Limits Foundation

The following students from the Bachelor's Degree Program in Animation and Video Games received recognition:

  • "La Gran Fakie," by Mateo Rodríguez and Sofía Rivero
  • "Lean On," by Milagros O'Brien
  • Route 110, by Daniela Font, Piero Morelli, and Lucía Revillo
  • Wear Wars, by Sebastián Aguiar, Manuel Arraga, and Juan Manuel Vaitkevicius
