The writer and poet René Fuentes, a professor in the Writing Department of the School of Communication and Design, was the only author from our country selected to present his most recent books at the Latin American Book Fair in Cartagena de Indias.
The event took place from July 16 to 23, 2023, at the University of Cartagena.
He presented his three most recent books: *The Liquid Part of the World*, *Cervantina*, and *Pieces to Repair a Trill*.
Finally, both within and outside the University of Cartagena and at other educational institutions, he held creative workshops with children, teenagers, and adults. In particular, at the Cerro Maco Corporation, he led a literary discussion in which he spoke with more than fifty students about his creative experience, as part of the Performing Arts for Mental Health in the Montes de María project, an initiative supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), through the grant fund of the Hilando Vidas y Esperanzas Program, which works with Colombian children living in war-torn areas.
